The quest continues...

Greetings taffers!
I've let my blog fade away in the last couple of years. Even my last post was to say the exact same thing!
Anyway, Bane III has been slow in progress because I've been working on very high profile team project for the last year. I'm hoping we'll get it out the door soon and I'll be able to focus full force on Bane III. This baby WILL BE RELEASED and Garrett's adventure with the Keepers will conclude! Fear not!
I'll also try to keep this blog up to date.

It has been a while

Wow, as far as fan missions are concerned I had a very unproductive summer. Bane III is not much closer to completion. I attempted to enter the "Classic Thief Experience" contest but I couldn't complete my entry in time. I do though, intend to finish it, it's gone too far to be abandoned in my opinion.
A new contest for the 10th anniversary of Thief has been announced, and I in my quest to finally participate in a contest, intend to enter! But the time is so short!!! If my entry ever materializes, it wont at all be ambitious.
As for Bane III... [sigh], I'm not going to give up! I'm still fully intending to finish the "Elemental Banes" series!

A "Grand" Canyon!

"I have Bane III - Temple of Eternal Agony opened and I'm staring at a bunch of cliffs in a valley that I've retextured three times so far and I'm still not happy with them. They don't give the correct feeling I'm aiming for....yet!
I'll probably end up tearing the cliffs down and starting over again. It's not what I'd envisioned.
Overall I'd say that it's a typical dromeding moment. "

That's by me, posted a few days ago in TTLG's Editor's Guild forums. I'm glad to announce that I have done exactly what I thought I might end up doing. I tore down all that I had done in the canyons and rebuilt them from scratch. I am immensely pleased with the result, and I think it's probably one of the better things I've created in DromEd. I'll post screenshots as soon as possible.
Overall, brushwork and terrain in the outdoor area of the mission is almost done.

As for Bane III, progress has been slow recently as I've been pretty busy. I've researched a few things I intend to implement in this mission. Hopefully I'll have some screen shots up pretty soon.

Bane III update

Recently I realized that I won't be able to finish Bane III in any reasonable time if I want to build the whole thing from scratch. I just have too much real life work. After some thought I decided to look for a suitable abandoned mission to incorporate into my mission. After searching through Yandros' whole abandoned missions archive I found just the thing I wanted. I have also found many suitable textures to use.
Hopefully this will mean saving months of work and also saving the work of one of the community's most talented authors from going to waste.

I have also completed the outline for my next mission (after Bane III). It's based on something I wanted to make for the Hammerite Competition (which was canceled) but hadn't found the time.

Bane II - Cult of the Damned, released!

Finally, I was able to put in the required time to eliminate the remaining issues and get this mission out the door.

I will add a new page to the site for this mission shortly.
